Overview
Foundit is a native Android application built with Java, designed exclusively for the student community at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). Developed as a collaborative school project, the app serves as a centralized digital hub where students can easily report lost belongings and post found items across the university campus.
Objective
The primary objective was to solve a real-world problem on campus by creating a reliable, user-friendly platform that connects students who have lost personal items—like ID cards, keys, or electronics—with those who have found them. A key goal was also to successfully collaborate within a team environment to design and deliver a fully functional native Android app from start to finish.
Process
The project spanned four months, starting with identifying the core features needed for a campus-specific lost and found system. Working collaboratively, our team managed UI/UX design, data structuring, and frontend development using Android Native Java. We focused on implementing intuitive features such as image uploads, categorized item listings, and specific location tagging for RUPP buildings to make the search and recovery process as seamless as possible.
Impact
Foundit successfully delivered a practical, tailored solution that fosters a sense of community, honesty, and helpfulness among RUPP students. On a technical and professional level, contributing to this collaborative project significantly strengthened my teamwork communication and deepened my hands-on proficiency in native Android app development.
